ABOUT
Kylie Jackson is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Portland, OR.
Her contemporary abstract ink and paper work is an experiment in process and application using unorthodox materials to produce black and white minimalist pieces.
Her video work follows suit in the same style yet because of the video, she is able to make her two-denominational ink works come alive. She uses her video work as an extension of her eyes. She sees art in the most simplest of forms.
Her installation work featuring shattered mirrors and dismembered mannequins bathed in harsh, fluorescent light merges Warhol’s Silver Factory with a raw, post-punk, 1980’s ideal.
Whether the medium is video, light, photography, glass, or ink, the recurring themes of nostalgia, detachment, and experimentation are staples of her continually evolving oeuvre.
